When is the best time to visit?

The best time to travel to Lake Titicaca is during the dry season, from April to October. During these months, the days are sunny and clear, with deep blue skies that highlight the beauty of the lake. Temperatures are warmer during the day, perfect for exploring, although nights can be cold. The rainy season (November to March) also has its charm, as the landscape becomes greener, but you should be prepared for possible showers and lower temperatures.

Recommendations and Essential Care

Due to the high altitude, it is important to take some precautions to ensure your trip is comfortable and safe:
  • Acclimatization: Altitude sickness, or “sorojche,” is common. We recommend taking it easy on the first day, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding alcohol. Coca leaves or coca tea can help alleviate symptoms.
  • Sun Protection: UV radiation is very high. Don’t forget to bring high SPF sunscreen, a hat or cap, and sunglasses.
  • Appropriate Clothing: The weather can vary greatly. Dress in layers: a T-shirt, a fleece or sweater, and a waterproof jacket. The nights are cold, so a warm jacket is essential.
